Sun, sea, and surf! Avenue English are elated to announce the opening of their second centre in Sea Point, Cape Town.

What we have learned from our Johannesburg center is that location is of the utmost importance in South Africa in terms of safety, buzz, experience, and mobility for foreign students.

Avenue English was established in 2011 in Johannesburg. The owner / head of school was trained in Cape Town before relocating to Johannesburg and is now delighted to be back in the Cape in her favourite neighborhood – Sea Point.

Sea Point is in the heart of the Atlantic Seaboard. A bustling, busy, seaside town on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and in front of Lions Head and Signal Hill.

London by the sea or perhaps the streets of Paris against the mountains? Sea Point is filled with coffee shops, restaurants, clothing boutiques, art galleries and grocery stalls and Avenue English is slap-bang in the middle of the buzz. One street down and we have the famous promenade where everyone is either walking, running, skating, or cycling along the beach front.

Avenue English has a bus stop in front of the school that can take students in all directions to experience all that Cape Town has to offer. Our school is on the 4^th floor of a modern dual-purpose building and 3 of the classrooms, as well as the chill room for students, have sea views – relax with a coffee and see if you can spot any whales or dolphins. We can pull the blinds down so that students can focus on their English lessons too…

All the accommodation options are within walking distance from the school.  In fact, the one hotel is across the road from Avenue English – students can literally roll out of bed and roll into the classroom. Below the hotel is one of Cape Town’s most famous restaurant markets with live music on the weekends.  Many choices for all dining requirements.
